The New Steam Machine

Following the success of the portable Steam Deck, Valve announced a new, more powerful Steam Machine, scheduled to ship in early 2026. This new model is a fixed-spec device manufactured by Valve itself.

Powered by Steam, optimized for gaming in any form. And just like Steam Deck, all are designed to help players get even more out of their Steam Library.

Key features of the new system:

  • Form Factor: A small, quiet, console-sized black cube designed to fit into an entertainment center.
  • Performance: It features semi-custom AMD Zen 4 CPU and RDNA 3 GPU components, offering significantly
  • more power than the Steam Deck and aiming for 4K 60 FPS gaming with FSR technology.
  • Ecosystem: It runs the same iteration of SteamOS as the Steam Deck and is part of a new hardware ecosystem
  • that includes a redesigned Steam Controller and a new VR headset called the Steam Frame.
  • Storage: It is expected to come in 512GB and 2TB storage options, with expandable storage via microSD cards.

In essence, a Steam Machine is Valve’s attempt to provide a streamlined, console-like PC gaming experience for the living room, leveraging their popular software platform.
