Sports, movies, music, has become an unbearable shit show and now games. It was inventible I guess since the gaming industry is now larger than all of film, television and music combined. Why should the gaming industry turn out differently?
The nominations are a joke and the winners are determined by a blended vote between a voting jury (90%) and public fan voting (10%). WTF? With these in the jury the result are almost guaranteed too be a shit soup.
Astro Bot game of the year? Really? I wonder why? Sony, any idea?
May as well call it The Sony Game Awards next year
Anyway, the show it self was very well done. Sadly the content is contaminated and rotten to the core.
Well there is something to look forward to in here, the reveal of new games!
Elden Ring: Nightreign
Elden Ring is getting a standalone multiplayer game next year. Not sure about what to think about this, but I trust FromSoftware not to fuck it up.
In Nightreign you get to explore a large world, called Limveld. Together with up to two other players. Here you must fight enemies, collect equipment and build a character that is as strong as possible.
The goal is to stay alive for three days, while the map keeps shrinking in battle royale style. Every night you have to fight huge boss enemies, and on the third and final day a great abomination called the Nightlord appears to make life difficult for everyone who has made it this far.
As FromSoftware says, it’s not a waste even if you don’t survive all the way. You get items that are used to customize and upgrade your figure for the next session.
Elden Ring: Nightreign will launch sometime in 2025, on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
The Witcher 4
CD Projekt RED was at The Game Awards. The developers shared a first look at their next The Witcher.
It will be called The Witcher IV and Ciri will take the lead.
The six-minute trailer, which you can watch above, showcases the new Witcher protagonist as she tries to protect a village from evil forces. She takes up the fight with both swords and various signs.
In a press release, the developer says that the goal is to create the most ambitious Witcher game in an open world to date. CD Projekt also says that the trailer above runs in Unreal Engine 5, with a previously unannounced graphics card from Nvidia.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword
Capcom breathes new life into the classic action series Onimusha is the first full-fledged game since 2006.
With the unveiling, the team shared a first trailer for the game. Here await evil spirits, razor-sharp swords and a combat system that seems to lean towards the Souls genre. Dammed I used to love Onimusha back in the Playstation days
Onimusha Way of the Sword launch is set for 2026. For PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Mafia: The Old Country
